TORIES PLAN FRACKING IN UK -- Updated 11 Oct., 2016

Update 11 Oct.,2016
Tory Government decided to give fracking the go-ahead despite objection from councils and people.

Democracy has gone under this Tory Gov.

UPDATED:  3 Dec., 2015 --
The freedom of accepting or refusing fracking in their area by the local council had been taken away. Lancashire Council refused to have fracking and it is now decided by Westminster.

It is not democracy any more.

David Cameron, despite the people's great opposition. handed out a number of licences for fracking.  There are still 136 contracts to be signed. Lancashire Council refused planning permission and David Cameron threatened to take it into his own hands and fast track it. He really is dictate to the people and country.

It will be the same as with the windmills. Now they admit that they are not producing the expected result but the people are stuck with the ugly sights plus have to pay subsidies all these years and still paying.

UPDATED:  30 June, 2015  --

David Cameron planned to start fracking in Lancashire. Although licence was given but the council refused it planning permission. The people ran a petition and put pressure on the Council as well. It was out-voted by 9-3.

The next we will hear is that David Cameron is trying to put through a law.  He is determined to get fracking started in the UK no matter the environmental cost.

UPDATED: 13 JUNE 2015 --

The latest to put through the Parliament a bill for fracking. To enable dirty companies to "test drill". The Government is planning to take the right away from people to say NO. Information from Degree 38, the Government wants to rush it through.  It would be against democracy, Human Rights and freedom.

Degree 38 is running a campaign to stop it. Sign up and voice your disagreement.

Will fracking also end up like British Petroleum which was first announced with a great fanfare and when it was established Margaret Thatcher sold it to foreign bidders? As always it was never revealed where the money went and how much?  The British taxpayers never had the benefit of the discovery. Britain should be debt free with all the oil form the North Sea.

Now David Cameron is bent over backward to allow fracking in the UK. The public is deadly against it but will the people be able to stop it?

The Guardian revealed the great damages to fresh water supply and air pollution. However, it does not seem to worry the government as long the pennies roll.

Where fracking is planned it will industrialise the peaceful country site. Roads have to be built for thousands of diesel trucks travelling up and down from the fracking site. It will be 250 trucks a day transporting chemicals, frack fluid and waste fluid. This is another question: where will they dump the waste fluid which is highly toxic?

Another major concern is the pollution of ground water.

In the US where fracking has been done for on many sites and over the decade numerous water contaminations has been reported.  Pennsylvania alone had 243 cases in six years.  Colorado local flood caused 40,000 gallon of oil leak into local water supply.

In the UK the government regulation is by far inadequate.

Even on hand of a great number of evidences of damages to the environment; licences are still handed out in areas of flood risk zones and source of drink water.

It was also proven that fracking releases greenhouse gases from the flaring and methane emissions.  Fracking operations can pollute the air with toxic chemicals and it is a serious threat to health. These are facts and not created false statements to stop fracking.

France has banned fracking while Scotland and Wales put a temporary ban on it.

In spite of all the evidences David Cameron is determined to go ahead.  Do they start in Chipping Norton or will it ever be done there? Your guess is as good as mine.

There is an “I’m not backing Fracking” window sticker available to show you r support when you sign the petition at Greenpeace and get a free poster.
